How we got here…

Arts Research Digest first appeared as a print journal in 1994. It had its genesis in the charitable arm of the National Campaign for the Arts (NCA) , known as National Campaign for the Arts (Research) Limited.

In 1993, NCA Chairman David Pratley, and fellow Board member Nancy Balfour, were inspired to create Arts Research Limited, to filter, collate and distribute new socio-economic research for the arts and cultural sector.

The innovative, impartial, and easily accessible information service that became Arts Research Digest met with high demand both in the UK and overseas.

Our ethos of knowledge-sharing, neutrality, peer-support and partnership working ensure the continuing popularity of our service two decades on.
